The brief was simple, you take a castle (Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami, FL) and recreate Game of Thrones. A party of the grandest magnitudes to launch Game of Thrones' 1st season soon to be airing on Cinemax in Latin America. Basically, impress the media buyers and planners that handle the Latin American market for major companies. Oh.. and by the way, you have 3 weeks to do it! YIKES!
In partnership with Experience Willow, Afterglow went to work... and fast. The result was a total immersive experience. As guests made their way to the entrance of the castle, they experienced smoke and smelled campfire, they heard horses and sword fighting. Over 20 actors and servers recreated a medieval village at the entrance of the Castle. Swordsmiths, courtesans, soldiers, tavern keepers, witches all had their play to recreate a Game of Thrones experience.
As guests entered the Castle they experienced Royal Hall. A 10ft bar served as the centerpiece to the Hall, while minstrels played for guests entertainment. Sword swallowers and jesters performed for guests' amusement. When the time came, a herald announced that the King himself requested their presence outside in the terrace. Guests made their way to a presentation area. Led by executives, the presentation was a full on detailed story on how Cinemax is at it's peak with the addition of the Game of Thrones series (HBO's most popular series to date). Guests also had the opportunity to see actor Jason Momoa (who played Khal Drogo in the 1st season of the series) and enjoyed a Q&A with him.
Once the presentation ended, guests where then directed to the South Terrace of the grounds for a grand feast and after party. A 6 by 16ft feasting table served as the center of the feast, while a 4ft ice sculpture served as the centerpiece of the table. The feasting table offered guests a little bit of everything for every palette. Guests enjoyed every delight as DJ Immortal spun lounge music with hints of Game of Thrones soundtracks.
All in all, over 60 actors and servers brought our Game of Thrones story to life. 250 guests were wined and dined and immersed in the Game of Thrones story. Our clients were thrilled at the end result and we basked in the Afterglow. When you play the Game of Thones you either win or you die. We won!
As a result of this outstanding production, Experience Willow and Afterglow Marketing were awarded BizBash's 2015 Best Corporate Event Award and Best Event Entertainment and Best Experiential Event at the 2016 Global Event Awards!
